About me

Welcome to baking in pyjamas, I’m Laura and I’m based in England. My blog is a place where I post recipes that I’ve created and ones from my ever growing cookery book collection. I love to cook but baking is where my passion lies. I love to create all different kinds of sweet confections.

The things I bake are what I feel like baking, whether it be a plain cake, a multi layered iced cake, cookie, cupcake, brownie, savoury bread, sweetbreadΒ  the list is endless. I’m still learning so the recipes may not look perfect but with plenty of practice and positive thinking, I believe that my creations will improve.

I love to collect cookery books and recipes from wherever I can find them, so I will also be doingΒ  book and recipe reviews. The majority of the recipes will be for the sweet tooth but I will also be reviewing and creating savoury recipes too.

I love flavour, I believe that good tasting,Β  good quality, nutritious homemade food comes down to what ingredients you use. When I cook and bake I like to use in season, fresh, organic and the best quality ingredients that I can find. I love exploring farmer’s markets and unique food shops to see what delicious goodies I can find.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog and that you’ll find the recipes I post appealing. Thanks for stopping by, please feel free to leave any comments as I like to hear other people’s thoughts and idea’s.

  2. Hi, was wondering if I could share some of your recipes on my Facebook timeline. I would include a link back to your blog of course. If not, totally fine. Thanks for your time!!!

  3. Another Uk based blogger – lovely! Your recipes look great and I too bake in my PJ’s sometimes (usually with a dressing gown as well!) My mouth is watering as I click round your site, and your photos are beautiful.

  4. Hi Laura! Just found your blog by searching for the “blog hop” tag – so glad I stumbled upon it! Your blog has such a sweet and girly feel to it; I absolutely love it! πŸ™‚ Can’t wait for your next posts!

  5. Hello, I work in the same office as your boy friend who brought in some of your cake (a carrot cake with edible glitter). It was delicious. He told me about your blog, you have some lovely recipes here and a lovely site.

  6. I made your Best Damn Lemon Cake and O.M.G. Delicious beyond. I could have drunk and/or swum in the glaze. I used meyer lemons and I went to heaven after a slice. The almonds added such an earthy, nice note. Thank you thank you!

    • Hi Ashley! Thank you so much for trying this recipe and stopping by, it’s always lovely hearing how my readers enjoy the recipes. This one was one of my favourite cakes in ages so I’m not surprised that you enjoyed it so much. Hope you stop back really soon!
